Binghamton native Nicholas Petrilli made his "Jeopardy!" debut on October 20, 2025, after more than ten years of attempts, fulfilling a lifelong dream sparked by childhood game show watching. His episode aired at 5:30 p.m. on WIVT News 34, earlier than usual due to Monday Night Football. Petrilli, a surveillance worker at Tioga Downs Casino, credited his job’s demands for sharpening skills useful on the show. He received his invitation just two weeks after auditioning—unusually fast—after years of applying annually, including a close call in 2014.
