Tripura's Matabari temple Diwali festival, drawing over 12 lakh visitors, features major rituals and heightened security.
Tripura is preparing for a major three-day Diwali festival at the Matabari temple in Udaipur, October 20–22, with officials expecting over 12 lakh visitors—up from last year’s 7–8 lakh—due to the recent redeveloped temple complex inauguration by the Prime Minister under the Prasad Scheme.
The event, organized by the Trust Mela Committee and Gomati District Administration, features special rituals including Mata Rani’s Puja, Diwali Puja, Yajna, and the Kalyan Aarti performed by the Chief Minister at Kalyan Sagar Lake.
Priests from Kashi Vishwanath Temple are participating, and security is heightened with over 2,500 personnel, 37 CCTV cameras, and drop gates deployed.
