Starting November 1, 2025, delivery motorcyclists in Dubai will be banned from using the leftmost lanes on roads with three or more lanes to improve safety amid a rise in accidents and violations.
The rule, enforced by the RTA and Dubai Police, applies to two lanes on five-lane roads and the leftmost lane on three- or four-lane roads, with fines starting at AED 500 and permit suspension for repeat offenses.
The move follows 962 accidents involving delivery bikes in 2025 and over 78,000 violations in the first nine months, driven by reckless riding.
Prohibitory signs and a public awareness campaign will support enforcement, with delivery companies encouraged to comply through recognition programs.
