MTN Group, now serving 300 million customers across Africa, is showcasing its expanded role in the continent’s digital future at Mobile World Congress Kigali 2025.
CEO Ralph Mupita delivered the opening keynote, “Africa’s Future First,” highlighting efforts to close the digital divide through 5G, fintech, and AI.
The company demonstrated 5G-powered innovations with Ericsson, including AR gaming and smart wearables, while promoting its platforms MoMo, Bayobab, and Chenosis.
MTN also emphasized its investment in digital skills via the MTN Skills Academy and increased infrastructure spending, with capex rising significantly in 2025.
The event, hosted by GSMA in Rwanda, underscores growing African momentum in digital transformation and public-private collaboration.
