M&M Zero, a UK zero-emission waste service, has reduced carbon emissions by 6.7 tonnes since 2021 using solar-powered vans.
M&M Zero, the UK’s first zero-emission waste collection service based in Oxfordshire, has operated for four years since its 2021 launch.
Using solar-powered electric vans, it collects recyclable waste from homes and businesses across central and western Oxfordshire, achieving recycling rates of 97% to 98% and saving 6.7 tonnes of carbon emissions this year—equivalent to charging 800,000 smartphones or the annual carbon absorption of 335 trees.
All waste is processed at its Cassington facility into reusable materials like plastic, furniture, clothing, and metal goods, supporting a circular economy.
The service handles household, commercial, industrial, and builders’ waste, operating with full, half, or quarter load capacity.
