A Minnesota man’s $5,000 Halloween candy stash was stolen, leaving him scrambling before the holiday.
Mike Wade, a Nevis, Minnesota man known for giving out five handfuls of candy to trick-or-treaters each Halloween, reported that about 100 pounds of bulk candy, valued at $5,000, was stolen from his porch just before the holiday.
For five years, Wade, a veteran with PTSD, has prepared extensively by ordering candy weeks in advance, hosting a pre-Halloween event for daycare children, and welcoming large crowds, including teens.
The theft has left him scrambling to replenish his supply ahead of Halloween.
