Idaho is seeking public input on proposed hunting rule changes, including open-sights seasons for center-fire rifles to manage crowded areas, electronic tagging for game like turkeys, and herd-kill permits for private landowners to control deer populations and disease.
The Idaho Fish and Game Commission is also asking whitetail deer hunters in units 2 and 10A to submit teeth, antler point counts, and beam measurements to track herd health.
All proposals require legislative approval.
Public comments are due by Wednesday.
