The BJP in Tripura has issued a show-cause notice to Boxanagar MLA Tafajjal Hossain over public criticism of former Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb and former Union Minister Pratima Bhoumik, accusing him of violating party discipline by airing internal grievances during a public event. Hossain, speaking at the MLA Cup Football Tournament on October 18, said he sought funding for a stadium gallery from both leaders without success, but received ₹50 lakh from BJP state president Rajib Bhattacharjee via his MPLAD fund. The party claims his remarks, which praised Chief Minister Manik Saha while criticizing senior leaders, damaged its image and breached conduct rules. A written response is required within five days or disciplinary action may follow.
