Bhojpuri actress Seema Singh's nomination for Bihar's Marhaura seat was rejected due to document errors, impacting the NDA's chances.
Seema Singh, a Bhojpuri actress and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) candidate in Bihar’s Marhoura constituency, had her nomination rejected on October 18, 2025, due to technical errors in her documents, dealing a blow to the ruling NDA coalition.
The rejection, confirmed by the Election Commission, was part of a broader scrutiny that disqualified four candidates, including former JD(U) leader Altaf Alam Raju.
Union Minister Chirag Paswan said a representation has been filed to resolve the issue.
The seat now has nine candidates, with a likely contest between incumbent RJD MLA Jitendra Kumar Rai and Jan Suraaj Party’s Abhay Singh.
The first phase of voting is set for November 6.
