flag Two teens shot at a Florida McDonald’s after arguing over a drive-thru wait, prompting a self-defense response and arrests.

A shooting occurred at a Davenport, Florida McDonald’s on October 12, 2025, after two customers, ages 19 and 18, argued with employee Yoan Soto, 21, over a long drive-thru wait. Soto said he couldn’t take their order due to an online order overload, a decision his manager had made. The customers allegedly threatened Soto, vowing to attack him after his shift ended. Security footage showed them entering the restaurant with a switchblade and high-capacity magazine. Soto drew a handgun in self-defense when one approached, grazing one suspect in the neck. Both suspects fled, as did Soto, who was later arrested on evidence-tampering charges after collecting shell casings. The two customers were charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct. Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd stated Soto had the right to self-defense due to the threats and confirmed the incident is under investigation.
