Pakistan's top judges must now avoid political events and get foreign travel approved by the Chief Justice.
Pakistan’s Supreme Judicial Council approved new amendments to the judges’ Code of Conduct, banning judges from attending political, social, or diplomatic events and requiring them to route foreign invitations through the Chief Justice.
The changes, endorsed by the National Judicial Policy Making Committee chaired by Chief Justice Yahya Afridi, aim to strengthen judicial independence and integrity.
The committee also supported ethical guidelines for AI use in courts, improved access to justice through digital reforms, and updated anti-terrorism laws requiring detainees to be produced before a magistrate within 24 hours.
