Ontario funds $4.895M supportive housing for Indigenous women and children in Brantford, with construction starting April 2026.
Ontario is investing $4.895 million in a new 12-unit supportive housing project in Brantford for Indigenous women and children, with construction set to begin in April.
The building at 309 Campbell St. will offer on-site services including counselling, youth mentorship, elder engagement, and holistic healing rooted in Indigenous traditions.
The funding comes from the province’s $41.5 million Indigenous Supportive Housing Program launched in 2022.
This follows a recent announcement of a youth program for Indigenous youth ages 13 to 17, also funded by Public Safety Canada, which uses a “four fires” approach to support mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being.
The initiatives reflect ongoing provincial and community efforts to address housing insecurity and strengthen Indigenous community well-being.
