India stops drone-delivered drug smuggling in Punjab, seizing meth, heroin, and a pistol.
On October 18, 2025, India’s Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted cross-border smuggling attempts in Punjab, seizing 3.675 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 602 grams of heroin, and a pistol, all recovered from fields near Amritsar and Ferozepur.
The methamphetamine packet, wrapped in yellow tape with illuminating strips and a metal ring, showed signs of drone delivery.
Operations followed intelligence leads, highlighting the growing use of drones for drug trafficking.
BSF also increased night patrols in Jammu and Kashmir ahead of Diwali.
