India approved a 72 km rail link between Devgarh Madariya and Marwar Junction to shorten travel between Jodhpur and Bikaner, boosting freight, farming, industry, and tourism.
India’s Ministry of Railways has approved the Final Location Survey for a 72 km broad gauge rail line connecting Devgarh Madariya to Marwar Junction in Rajasthan.
The project aims to create the shortest rail link between Jodhpur and Bikaner, improving passenger and freight movement across Rajsamand, Udaipur, and Pali districts.
It will enhance access to agricultural markets, reduce logistics costs for farmers, support industrial growth in the Jodhpur-Pali zone, and boost tourism by improving access to cultural sites.
The line aligns with the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and Indian Railways’ Mission 3000 MT, while also advancing socio-economic development for tribal communities through better access to education, healthcare, and jobs.
Completion will follow the ongoing gauge conversion from Nathdwara to Devgarh Madariya.
