ICBA wins FAO’s first Global Technical Recognition for advancing climate-resilient agriculture in arid, saline regions.
The International Centre for Biosaline Agriculture (ICBA) has been awarded the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ first Global Technical Recognition for its work in sustainable plant production and protection.
Presented on October 15, 2025, during FAO’s 80th anniversary and World Food Day celebrations in Rome, the honor recognizes ICBA’s leadership in developing climate-resilient agriculture in saline and arid regions.
Based in the UAE and operating in over 40 countries, ICBA has advanced soil health, water efficiency, and stress-tolerant crops through science-driven innovation over nearly 25 years.
The award supports FAO’s “Four Betters” framework and ICBA’s 2024–2034 strategy to strengthen food systems in challenging environments through global partnerships and sustainable solutions.
