Himachal Pradesh will clear pensioner arrears by Diwali, distribute disaster relief, and prepare for a central aid package.

Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu of Himachal Pradesh said pending Dearness Allowance arrears for pensioners from January to October 2025 will be cleared before Diwali, with ₹80–90 crore provisioned. He cited reduced central grants as a financial constraint and confirmed pension cards for those over 75, with cases for those over 70 being processed. A ₹10 crore release for HRTC pensioners was made, with ₹57 crore monthly allocated for salaries and pensions. The state is distributing disaster relief, offering ₹7 lakh to families who lost homes and ₹17,000 to those who lost belongings, and is ready to implement a ₹1,500 crore central relief package. The Congress party will soon appoint a new state president.
