On October 17, 2025, a roadside food vendor in Dimapur’s Burma Camp was attacked and his stall vandalized after a dispute over a half plate of noodles priced at INR 30, with customers claiming insufficient meat.
Witnesses reported the suspects, allegedly under the influence of alcohol and in a black Mahindra Thar, pelted stones, threatened to burn the stall, and rammed it repeatedly.
The Western Sumi Youth Front condemned the violence as senseless and a sign of rising lawlessness.
