A Chinese construction firm, CCECC, has launched an emergency six-month road project in Abuja, Nigeria, to ease chronic traffic congestion.
Officially named Collector Road C01, the project was fast-tracked via emergency procurement approved by President Bola Tinubu, bypassing the regular budget.
It will connect Abuja’s institutional and academic zones, including the Body of Benchers and university areas, with work including drainage, culverts, paving, and a three-span bridge.
The Federal Capital Territory Administration labeled it a priority, and CCECC’s managing director pledged timely, high-quality delivery.
