A 20-year-old man, Armaan Dhillon, is suing Beaconhills College in Victoria over a 2022 recess incident that left him quadriplegic after a scuffle at a drinking fountain escalated when another student put him in a headlock. Dhillon, then 16, alleges no teachers were present, delaying medical response and causing further harm, including students stepping on his fingers. He claims a school nurse dismissed his distress as “putting on a show.” The lawsuit alleges the school failed in its duty of care by not providing adequate supervision, leading to multiple surgeries, ongoing health issues, and shattered future plans. While police were involved and reports filed, no charges were brought. The school declined to comment, citing ongoing legal proceedings.
