The Vegas Golden Knights have signed goaltender Carter Hart, who becomes eligible to join the NHL after being acquitted of sexual assault charges tied to a 2018 World Junior Championship incident.
Hart, 27, previously played 227 games for the Philadelphia Flyers, posting a 96-93-29 record, 2.94 GAA, and .906 save percentage.
He can sign with a team starting Oct. 15 but is not permitted to play until Dec. 1 under the NHL and NHLPA’s reinstatement process.
The Golden Knights stated they support the league’s decision and reaffirmed their commitment to organizational values.
Hart joins a goaltending group that includes injured starter Adin Hill and Akira Schmid.
