The UN's FAO opened a new Rome museum on World Food Day to highlight global food systems and sustainability.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN inaugurated the Food and Agriculture Museum & Network (FAO MuNe) in Rome on World Food Day, marking its 80th anniversary.
Located at FAO headquarters, the 1,300 m² museum features interactive exhibits, over 1.5 million physical and digital agricultural resources, and artworks from 40 member countries, including large-scale sculptures symbolizing sustainability.
Open to the public from October 20, 2025, it promotes awareness of food systems, agricultural heritage, and innovation through immersive experiences and digital tools, with a mission to inspire action on global food and environmental challenges.
