Two Putnam County deputies were fired and charged after falsifying timecards to steal over $9,000 in pay.
Two Putnam County Sheriff’s Office deputies, Lieutenant Michael Wells and Detective Elias Rivera, were terminated after investigations found they falsified timecards to collect pay for hours not worked, resulting in a combined loss of over $9,000.
Wells, fired on October 6, caused a $6,522.49 loss through unauthorized pay and leave violations; Rivera, fired on October 16, earned $2,558.45 by falsifying 95.5 hours.
Both were charged with grand theft and official misconduct.
