Nissan is pushing its Rogue e-Power hybrid launch to October 2026 due to high demand and plug-in hybrid delays.
Nissan is accelerating the U.S. launch of its Rogue e-Power hybrid to October 2026, nearly a year ahead of schedule, due to strong demand and delays in its plug-in hybrid version.
The e-Power system, which uses a gasoline engine to charge batteries and power electric motors, will be imported from Japan initially and produced in Tennessee by 2028.
The plug-in hybrid, delayed due to loss of federal tax credits, is expected to sell fewer than 10,000 units in 2026.
The move reflects rising consumer interest in hybrids, now making up over 12% of U.S. new vehicle sales.
Nissan also plans e-Power versions of the Infiniti QX50 and Kicks, aiming to strengthen its lineup amid competition from Toyota and Honda.
