Megha Engineering and Infrastructures Ltd (MEIL) has won a $225.5 million contract from Kuwait Oil Company to build, operate, and maintain a gas sweetening and sulfur recovery facility in West Kuwait.
The project, set for completion in 790 days, will process up to 120 million standard cubic feet of sour gas daily and recover nearly 300 tons of sulfur per day.
It will be developed under a Build-Own-Operate model with a potential buyback option for KOC.
The purified gas will be sent to the Mina Ahmadi Refinery for LPG production.
The project supports Kuwait’s clean energy and environmental goals and marks MEIL’s expansion in the Middle East, adding to its global infrastructure portfolio in hydrocarbons, power, and water.
