Marc-Alexis Côté left Ubisoft after being asked to step down, declining a lesser role at new studio Vantage Studios.
Marc-Alexis Côté, who led the Assassin’s Creed franchise at Ubisoft for over two decades, has left the company, stating he did not voluntarily depart.
He clarified in a LinkedIn post that Ubisoft asked him to step down, transferring leadership to someone aligned with its new organizational structure.
Côté said he was offered a different role lacking the same scope and continuity, and declined a position at Vantage Studios, a new Tencent-backed subsidiary overseeing Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six.
The studio launched in October 2025, and Côté’s exit follows broader leadership changes at Ubisoft amid industry shifts.
