Lincoln officials announced preparations for the 2025–26 winter season, including 8,000 tons of road salt, a brine program saving $100,000 to $300,000 annually, and 20 new "super combo" plows that perform multiple tasks in one pass. The city has 60 plows and can deploy up to 100 contractor plows during major storms. Real-time tracking is available online, and residents are urged to comply with parking bans, clear sidewalks, and drive cautiously. The Snow Angels volunteer program and a "Name That Snowplow" contest run through November 5 are also part of the outreach.
