A Butler County judge denied a bond reduction for James R. Rothenbusch, 52, one of two men charged in the August 3, 2025, death of 28-year-old pregnant Brittany Fuhr-Storms, whose body was found in a plastic container in Jackson Township.
Rothenbusch, facing charges including gross abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence, has a criminal history dating to 1993.
His co-defendant, Ricky J. Sheppard, 47, also faces similar charges and remains jailed on a $40,000 bond.
Fuhr-Storms’ brother urged the court not to lower the bond, citing community safety concerns.
A trial is tentatively set for January 12, 2026.
