On October 17, 2025, India’s Union Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh planted a sapling at the Swaminarayan Temple Complex in Kampala, Uganda, as part of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' environmental initiative, promoting global ecological responsibility.
Representing India at the 19th Non-Aligned Movement Mid-Term Ministerial Meeting, Singh advocated for strengthening the Global South’s role in global governance, calling for fair trade, climate justice, resilient supply chains, and reforms in multilateral institutions.
He emphasized equitable climate financing, balanced migration policies, and international cooperation on security, including combating cross-border terrorism.
