In Illinois’ Republican gubernatorial primary, conservative researcher Ted Dabrowski leads fundraising with $1.5 million, including seven six-figure donations, while former Sen. Darren Bailey, despite strong name recognition, raised only $20,400 initially and relies on support from a PAC linked to former aide Brett Corrigan. DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick spent nearly $75,000 but raised just $35,200, leaving a $60,838 deficit. Other candidates include attorney Max Solomon, who has not raised recent funds, and businessman Joe Severino, who has not filed disclosures. Antioch Mayor Scott Gartner has dropped out. The GOP nominee will face incumbent Gov. J.B. Pritzker, who has $661,400 in reserves. In the Democratic comptroller race, Rep. Margaret Croke leads with $425,500 in funding.
