Governor Evers begins search for Trempealeau County sheriff after retiring sheriff’s resignation.
Governor Tony Evers has launched a search for a new Trempealeau County sheriff after Sheriff Brett A. Semingson announced his retirement effective December 5, 2025.
The appointed individual will serve the remainder of the unexpired term, ending in January 2027.
Applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. on October 31, 2025, via the Governor’s “Apply to Serve” webpage at www.evers.wi.gov.

The appointment process follows state procedures for filling county sheriff vacancies.
