The EU has awarded Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia funds for infrastructure and reforms, advancing their economic integration.
The European Commission has released new funding for Albania, Montenegro, and North Macedonia under the EU Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, with Albania receiving 99.3 million euros, Montenegro 8.1 million, and North Macedonia 16 million.
Funds will support infrastructure and reforms in sustainable transport, clean energy, digital development, and human capital.
The countries have also joined the EU’s Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), improving financial connectivity and enabling faster, cheaper euro transactions, with potential annual savings of up to 500 million euros.
This marks a key step in their economic integration with the EU.
