Delhi High Court to hear Sajjan Kumar’s appeal in 1984 anti-Sikh riots case on October 18, 2025.
The Delhi High Court will hear in November the appeal of former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar against his life imprisonment conviction for his role in the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, specifically the November 1 killings of Jaswant Singh and his son.
The trial court, citing his age and health, sentenced him to life in prison instead of the death penalty, ruling the case did not meet the "rarest of rare" standard.
Kumar, previously convicted in 2018 for five murders during the same riots, remains imprisoned.
The appeal is set for October 18, 2025, before a division bench.
