A Bihar migrant worker, accused of aiding Lashkar-e-Taiba in a terror plot targeting non-Muslims in Tamil Nadu and Jammu & Kashmir, has been charged by India's NIA.
The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against Akhalatur, a 28-year-old Bihar migrant labourer, for allegedly aiding Lashkar-e-Taiba in a terror plot spanning Tamil Nadu and Jammu and Kashmir.
Arrested in April 2025 in Chengalpattu, he is accused of communicating with LeT operatives in Pakistan, conspiring to target non-Muslims in Tamil Nadu, and attempting to acquire weapons for a jihadist attack.
The NIA says the plot was disrupted before execution.
He faces charges under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.
The case remains under investigation.
