A 56-year-old former Texas school janitor was arrested for possessing thousands of child sexual abuse images and faces federal charges.

A 56-year-old former Grape Creek ISD janitor, Sammy Ray Soto, was arrested on October 7, 2025, after authorities found thousands of child sexual abuse images and videos during a search of his Tom Green County home. Federal charges have since been added, and a U.S. Marshal hold is in place. Investigators allege Soto committed multiple sex crimes during the early 2000s while working at the school district and performing with a local band. The Tom Green County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public help in identifying potential victims and urges anyone with information to contact Sgt. Nicholas Hammer at (325) 655-8111.
