Virgin Atlantic is upgrading its 787 Dreamliners with new high-speed Wi-Fi using Boeing’s tech for better in-flight internet.
Virgin Atlantic has partnered with Boeing to install next-generation Wi-Fi on its 787 Dreamliners using Electronically Steered Phased Array antennas and a new aerodynamic shroud, enabling high-speed, low-latency internet via LEO and multi-orbit satellites.
The upgrade, announced October 15, 2025, aims to deliver streaming-quality connectivity surpassing many ground-based services.
Boeing will provide engineering and hardware support.
The improvement is part of Virgin Atlantic’s broader fleet modernization and sustainability efforts, including a net zero emissions goal by 2050 and continued use of sustainable aviation fuel.
