The U.S. Coast Guard has awarded Rozema Boat Works a multi-year contract to build up to six 64-foot SPC-HWX II vessels for the Pacific Northwest, replacing retired 52-foot patrol boats.
Designed for extreme weather, the all-aluminum craft can operate in 35-foot seas and 60-knot winds, with a 20-knot speed, 150-mile range, and 18,000-pound bollard pull.
Built with input from UK’s Camarc Design and Elliott Bay Design Group, the self-righting boats support search and rescue, law enforcement, and coastal security with 48-hour crew endurance.
The first vessel is expected in fiscal year 2027.
