Rhode Island College has opened a new cybersecurity range, the first of its kind in the state, to provide students with hands-on training in simulated cyberattacks like ransomware and phishing.
Part of the college’s Institute for Cybersecurity & Emerging Technologies, the facility uses IBM’s Cloud Range platform, features a large video wall and isolated network, and will serve students, local organizations, and government agencies.
The space, located in Alger Hall, is part of a broader effort to expand tech education and workforce readiness, with plans to relocate it to Whipple Hall after renovations.
