A Nigerian man was charged with stealing over $200,000 in POS machines from multiple victims in Lagos.

A 25-year-old man, James Akomolafe, was arraigned in Lagos, Nigeria, on six counts of conspiracy and stealing Moniepoint POS machines containing over N18 million in funds, allegedly between June and August 2025 in Ikorodu and Oyingbo. Prosecutors cited thefts of devices with sums ranging from N1.3 million to N8.5 million from multiple victims. The court ordered his remand pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions, and the case was adjourned to December 1 for mention. His plea was not recorded.
