A $121 million phase of the I-94 East-West project in Milwaukee begins October 27, with construction starting on the West Leg Segment from 70th Street to Zablocki Drive.
The project, led by Zignego Company, will expand the highway to four lanes in each direction, rebuild interchanges, and improve safety and traffic flow on a heavily traveled corridor.
Long-term lane and ramp closures, including the southbound WIS 175 to Frederick Miller Way ramp, will begin November 3, with detours and delays expected.
The work, which includes bridge repairs and drainage upgrades, is scheduled for completion by late 2028.
Officials urge drivers to plan ahead and check 511wi.gov for updates.
