Karnataka’s A-Khata scheme faces backlash over high fees and alleged corruption, while the state pushes rapid property conversion.
Union Minister H.D.
Kumaraswamy accused Karnataka’s government of imposing a ₹15,000 crore financial burden through its A-Khata property conversion scheme, calling it a scam disguised as a Diwali gift.
He criticized the scheme for charging up to ₹8 lakh for property upgrades, far exceeding past fees of ₹10,000–₹13,000, and demanded transparency on past grants.
Meanwhile, the state announced a 100-day campaign to convert 1.5 million B-Khata properties to A-Khata in Bengaluru, offering doorstep services and improved land records.
Kumaraswamy also highlighted land scarcity in Mandya as a barrier to industrial growth and praised a new autorickshaw stand built with development funds.
El esquema A-Khata de Karnataka se enfrenta a una reacción violenta por las altas tarifas y la presunta corrupción, mientras que el estado impulsa la rápida conversión de propiedades.
