A Florida man arrested in connection with trafficking and sex crimes against two Argentinian minors is facing extradition.
Luis Alberto Sosa, a 50-year-old Mooresville man and former missionary pastor from Argentina, was arrested in Flagler County, Florida, on charges including human trafficking and multiple sex offenses against two Argentinian minors aged 13 to 17.
Authorities allege he brought the teens to North Carolina between 2002 and 2008 under false pretenses, claiming it was a religious ministry opportunity, and committed sexual offenses while holding temporary guardianship over them.
The case originated with a report to Argentinian authorities, leading to a joint investigation involving U.S. and international agencies.
Sosa fled to Florida, where he was apprehended without incident and is currently held without bond, awaiting extradition to face charges in Iredell County.
He has no known prior criminal history.
