Dudley’s deputy mayor urges residents to get free flu vaccines before winter, especially high-risk groups.
Dudley's deputy mayor, Councillor Mushtaq Hussain, is urging residents to get their free flu vaccine ahead of winter, following his own jab at a Sedgley pharmacy.
He highlighted the increased risk of flu transmission indoors during colder months and stressed the importance of vaccination for those aged 65 and over, people with certain health conditions, pregnant women, care home residents, frontline health workers, carers, and those living with immunocompromised individuals.
Children aged two to 18 can receive a nasal spray vaccine, with parental consent required via electronic forms.
Vaccines are available through GPs, pharmacies, and maternity services.
