Cadillac to end CT4 and CT5 sedans by 2026, but revive CT5 with gas engine for 2029 F1 push.
Cadillac will discontinue the CT4 and CT5 sedans after the 2026 model year, with the CT4 ending in June 2026 and the CT5 later that year.
However, a new-generation CT5 powered by an internal combustion engine will be developed and built at GM’s Lansing plant, using U.S. and global parts.
This marks a shift from Cadillac’s earlier plan to go fully electric by 2030, now replaced by a “luxury of choice” strategy that includes gas-powered performance models.
The XT6 SUV will also be discontinued after 2026.
The move reflects Cadillac’s balance between expanding its EV lineup—now nearly 30% of sales—and meeting demand for combustion engines, especially ahead of its 2029 Formula 1 debut.
Details on the new CT5 will come later.
