Bryan Smith sentenced to 16 months for 80mph chase, reckless driving, and fleeing police in Bristol.
Bryan Smith, 47, was sentenced to 16 months in prison and banned from driving for 10 years and eight months after a 27-minute high-speed chase through Bristol on September 2.
He fled police while driving a stolen vehicle with cloned plates, reaching speeds up to 80mph in a 30mph zone, running red lights, driving on pavements, and crashing into two cars.
Officers, aided by a helicopter, used stingers and a taser to stop him after he tried to flee again.
Smith pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, driving without insurance, and failing to provide a specimen.
Avon and Somerset Police called his actions among the most reckless they’ve seen, stressing the risk of serious harm.
The sentence was handed down on October 9 at Bristol Crown Court.
