BJP-led NDA splits over seat shares ahead of Bihar polls; vote counting set for Nov. 14.
Ahead of Bihar’s November 6 and 11 assembly elections, the BJP-led NDA announced it would contest all 243 seats, with the BJP and JD(U) each securing 101, while RLM and HAM each got six.
Tensions emerged within the NDA, as RLM leader Upendra Kushwaha expressed disappointment over limited seat allocations and traveled to Delhi to discuss the matter, with Union Minister Nityanand Rai assuring resolution.
The BJP released a list of 71 candidates, including younger faces and some notable dropouts.
Meanwhile, RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari claimed internal rifts weakened the NDA, predicting a Tejashwi Yadav-led government, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi called for accountability after a Dalit IPS officer’s suicide, highlighting systemic discrimination.
Vote counting is set for November 14.
