Trust in Philippines' Marcos and Duterte drops amid corruption scrutiny, survey shows.
A September 2025 Social Weather Stations survey found declining trust in Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte, with Marcos’ rating dropping to 48% from 53% in June and Duterte’s falling to 53% from 61%.
The decline follows public scrutiny over a corruption scandal involving infrastructure projects, including flood control.
Distrust in Marcos rose to 36%, and in Duterte to 28%.
Regional support varied, with Marcos strongest in Luzon and Duterte in Mindanao.
The survey of 1,500 adults had a ±3% margin of error.
The Palace acknowledged the results but reaffirmed the President’s focus on public service.
