Three French telecom giants made a €17B joint offer to buy most of Altice’s French assets to strengthen national digital infrastructure.
Three major French telecom companies—Bouygues Telecom, Free-iliad Group, and Orange—have made a joint non-binding offer to acquire most of Altice’s French telecom assets, valued at €17 billion, aiming to strengthen national digital infrastructure.
The deal, which excludes certain subsidiaries and overseas operations, would see Bouygues Telecom take the lead in B2B and SFR’s rural mobile network, while the B2C segment and infrastructure would be shared, with contributions of 43%, 30%, and 27% respectively.
The transaction, pending regulatory approval, due diligence, and employee consultations, seeks to boost investments in superfast networks, cybersecurity, and AI.
