Te Omanga Hospice appoints Di Taylor as new CEO amid $7M funding shortfall, serving 646 patients annually.
Te Omanga Hospice has appointed Di Taylor as its new Chief Executive, effective December 1, 2025, succeeding Biddy Harford, who is retiring after 37 years, including 25 as CEO.
Taylor, most recently General Manager at TenFour Technology, brings leadership experience from public and private sectors and a history of community service, including prior roles on the hospice’s board.
The organization, which provides free palliative care across the Hutt Valley, faces a $7 million funding gap this year, requiring community fundraising to cover nearly half its $13.8 million budget as government support lags behind inflation and demand.
In 2025, it served 646 patients, with up to 155 receiving care daily, through home-based services, an in-patient unit, and partnerships with health providers.
The hospice continues to rely on donations and community support to sustain its mission of compassionate, holistic care.
