Raytheon began a $53 million expansion in Andover, MA, to triple LTAMDS radar production for U.S. and international defense needs.
Raytheon broke ground on a $53 million expansion of its Andover, Massachusetts, facility on October 15, 2025, to boost production of the Lower Tier Air and Missile Defense Sensor (LTAMDS) radar system.
The 23,000-square-foot addition, expected to be completed by late 2026, will increase capacity to support up to 18 radars annually, tripling current output.
The system, designed to counter hypersonic and other advanced threats, has cleared key milestones, including low-rate production approval, with prototypes deployed for testing in Guam.
The expansion supports growing U.S. and international demand, including Poland’s planned purchase of 12 LTAMDS systems and 48 Patriot launchers, marking the first foreign order.
