A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run on I-15 near Bonsall; a damaged Mazda is suspected.

A pedestrian died in a hit-and-run crash on northbound Interstate 15 near Bonsall, San Diego County, around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday. The suspect vehicle, believed to be a Mazda with front-end and undercarriage damage, fled the scene. The California Highway Patrol is investigating and asking the public for information or footage. The victim’s identity has not been released.
